Here is where I’d like to tell you a story about how I had it all together, and that’s why you should trust me. But I didn't—and perhaps that's why you should trust me more. 

I learned a lot by being the only woman in the room, trying to prove myself, taking on and absorbing the emotional labor, and playing the "glue" to keep teams aligned and moving forward. I sat and did the work, and I was overlooked for promotions and salary adjustments because of it.

I got frustrated. And then I realized that at least half of the issue was me and what I was willing to accept and tolerate. It was in that moment that I began to shift my way of working, propelling my career from Manager to Vice President of Data Science in just four years. And I did this while getting diagnosed with and managing a chronic illness—a full-time job of its own.

A big part of that shift was unlearning the idea that my work should simply speak for itself - and that if I just did more, it would be enough. Success isn't just about technical expertise or execution; it's about leading with integrity, influencing without authority, and building trust.

It was as a leader that I fell in love with what I know now as coaching. Every day, I was so excited to empower my team to grow and thrive and handle the thorny parts of collaboration and the wrenches life throws at you. I realized that I could help more people than just my team, and now I’m dedicated to empowering women like you to do the same.
